Caroline Eshak-Liuzzi
Caroline is a self-taught visual artist utilising skills and knowledge gained from her early career as an Architect in Melbourne. Her initial vocation in the visual arts began in 1990 where her first exhibition opened at the Reserve Bank of Australia. With a sell-out show to kick start her career, the Reserve Bank purchased a piece, El Bakia, to house in its private collection. With two Dow Australia Scholarships for emerging young talent under her belt by 1991, Caroline continued to exhibit in various galleries across Victoria, including the National Art Gallery of Victoria, until 2011. For five years thereafter, her practice flourished working as an Artist in Residence at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Paediatrics where her creativity was enjoyed by children and adolescents in the Cancer wards. Her practice continued with Creative Art Therapy Australia working with end of life and chronically ill children and their families. The formative years spent as an Artist in Residence in paediatrics saw Caroline create award winning children’s books. Caroline has resumed her art practice in the past three years while mentoring VCE students with their portfolios and main body of artwork. All her students have highly achieved with invitations to submit works to the National Art Gallery of Victoria “Top Arts” Program. More works are available upon request.
