The Men's Group Mental Health Series
The Men's Group Mental Health Series at Creative Art Therapy Australia offers a specialised therapeutic approach for men and their needs. Men are encouraged to bring their concerns and issues to a safe and confidential environment at CATA. Here, topics are explored in a group setting, covering a wide range of issues, including anxiety, substance use, housing instability, PTSD, eating disorders, recovery from accidents, loss, grief, and relationships. This program employs a variety of creative arts therapies. Examples are drama therapy techniques such as role-play, voice work, movement, and projective methods. These techniques allow participants to explore and understand personal experiences, facilitating meaningful change.
Our workshops provide a supportive and collaborative environment where participants can engage with therapists and each other, enhancing their recovery process through group participation. These sessions are conducted in a safe and non-judgemental on-site facility at CATA, creating a sense of community and belonging. The foundation of our program is built on principles that emphasise safety, presence, and mutual respect. We foster trust and inclusivity, focus on the "here and now", and provide control and choice where new insights emerge, facilitating a co-creative process that promotes transformation.
The Men’s Mental Health Series promotes shared personal stories and encourages collective artistic creation, making it a powerful tool for recovery. This program is structured and managed by trained, qualified, and registered practitioners dedicated to supporting men's mental health.
