AT Supervision

Laura joins CATA as Principal Arts Psychotherapist and Supervisor. Laura is responsible for ensuring person-centred holistic approaches to service delivery and supervises CATA Arts Therapists and case management. Together with the CATA team, Laura advances the creation and delivery of Creative Arts Therapy programs to support individuals and groups living with adverse experiences.

Beginning her professional journey as a community artist working with children in need, she recognised the healing power of art. Having trained in Psychology and Art in Ireland, Laura obtained a Master of Science in Art Psychotherapy in Scotland in 2010. Upon graduating, Laura has been dynamic and progressive in the field of Art Therapy, specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Child Protection, and life-limiting conditions. Experiencing firsthand the health benefits of Art Therapy, Laura set about addressing the visibility and accessibility of Art Therapy services in the community, co-founding and advancing art therapy charities.

Laura relocated with her family from Scotland to Melbourne at the end of 2019 and comes to CATA with experience in leadership, project management, and supervisory roles. As a compassionate, intuitive practitioner Laura's holistic approaches empower individuals & communities to strive for transformational change.
