Description

Tractor Man is about putting Creative Art Therapies on the Map

We are setting out to put a spotlight on the importance of creative art therapy, particularly for children braving trauma. We are doing this through the Tractor Man journey, which involves a donated Massey Fergusson TE20 tractor, along with an old fire truck travelling from Newcastle to Melbourne in 10 days to reach, support and raise funds for children braving trauma.

Local residents in each town will be encouraged to paint their stories on the both vehicles, making the Massey Fergusson TE20 tractor and the fire truck moving pieces of communal art.

The journey kicks off in Newcastle on 15 May and ends in Melbourne on 24 May and during the 10-day journey we will visit designated hospitals, hospices, schools and homes including the Bear Cottage Pediatric and Palliative Care in Manly (Sydney) and Very Special Kids Hospice in Malvern (Melbourne).

The project is supported by a number of Art Therapists, Artists and Volunteers. During each visit we will create art with and for children braving trauma.

Tractor Man and the Art Cabriolet aim to:

  • Reach and support Australian children in trauma
  • Create awareness of creative art therapy and its benefits
  • Raise one million dollars
  • How will your donation help?

Funds raised will go towards providing a permanent arts hub for The Art Cabriolet so we can reach and support more Australian children in trauma.

A permanent arts hub allows children to discover creative art therapies in a non-clinical environment, which will help impact our reach and opens more doors to delivering more tools to empower children.
