Description

Deconstruct Recreate is a music based program that incorporates art, narrative and movement.

Deconstruct Recreate is a collaboration between Creative Art Therapy Australia, Beau Brooks, and SAE Qantm Institute. The program aims to give voice to children and youth who are enduring psychological and physical trauma, chronic illness and mental health challenges. Through music, movement, art and narrative, individuals explore their authentic voice and potential.

A minimum of 5 sessions offered, are led by a qualified Art Therapist and a professional music producer. Access to professional studio’s, equipment and instruments provided by SAE Institute located in South Melbourne. There are opportunities to collaborate with established industry professionals such as music producers, instrumentalists and artists.

Sessions are based on well-being, positive psychology and the understanding that music is beneficial to decreasing physical effects of stress and reduces anxiety. Each session includes a check-in, mindful breathing and movement, creative interventions and reflections. Making music, writing lyrics and singing improves a person's mood, strengthens coping skills and encourages emotional expression.
