CATA Brochure

CATA's service can be delivered in both clinical and non clinical settings, online or face to face. The therapeutic benefits are evident when, after a few sessions of arts making, there is improvement in fine motor skills, reduced PTSD symptoms, decreased anxiety and depression, and an overall increased feeling of well-being.

Creative Arts making requires no words, so Creative Arts Therapy sessions break through language barriers, supporting the person no matter how incapacitating their condition or disability is. CATA's programs are inclusive and person-centred, providing empowerment, agency and improving the quality of life for the person.

Our Disability Program:

  • CATA creates a safe and intimate space through co-creating art together with the person, giving them a sense of being seen
  • Creating artwork with people who may not have been given the opportunity previously to paint or work within the Creative Arts because of their severe disability
  • Increase in somatic responses in those who are primarily non mobile and unresponsive
  • Improvement of fine motor skills
  • Reduction of anxiety, depression and stress
  • Enhances quality of life
  • CATA Creative Arts Therapists work alongside multidisciplinary team in the clinical setting
  • CATA goes to the need with a fully mobile service
  • Online delivery reaching remote / rural areas
