Description
By 2009, Marysville Primary School (MPS) comprised of two classrooms with a total school population of twenty-four children. One classroom comprised children from grade prep to grade three and the other classroom catered for children from grade four to grade six. As a result of the devastating bushfires in February 2009, the children of MPS lost their entire school grounds. Travelling to Taggerty, the temporary school grounds, CATA worked closely and consistently with the children from MPS.
As a foundation working regularly with these children, we were honoured to see these short testimonials displayed with their personal portfolio in conjunction with the renowned Marysville Annual Exhibition.
Here was a small group of testimonials by the students themselves at various age groups. These testimonials gave CATA an understanding across the board of how enriching their experiences have been as a result of bringing art back into their lives. Some children provided drawings whilst explaining their thoughts.
